We were delighted to hear this week that the members of Chesterfield Town Women’s Institute have voted to adopt Church on the Bus as their Charity of the Year 2017. When we receive support from local organisations such as the WI it really encourages our volunteers and of course, everything donated by the WI members will go to helping the disadvantaged people who visit the Bus.
On Monday evening we had an unexpected, and very welcome, visitor to the Bus – Lesley Vernon from Christ Church in Dore, on the outskirts of Sheffield. The church are long-time supporters of the Church on the Bus project and they certainly came up trumps on Monday as Lesley brought with her a very generous donation from their World Mission Team.
In an accompanying letter Lesley said “I know this funding will be put to good use for the work with the homeless and destitute in Chesterfield, and hope that the work of Capt Alan Park will be continued by the loyal volunteers now giving their time and efforts to the project”
We are so grateful for this support and we send a big Thank You to everyone at Christ Church. May God bless you all.

The folk at St Thomas’ Church, Brampton have been busy donating presents to be given out to the people who come to Church on the Bus this Christmas. Visitors who came to the Church to see the Christmas Tree Festival also brought presents. Altogether we have received over 300 parcels. Thank you to everyone for your great generosity.
