Great Greggs news! We are now receiving donations of food from Greggs’ shops in Chesterfield. Our volunteers call at the shops at the end of the day and they kindly donate items of food that will not keep to the next day. This means that our guests on the bus can tuck into sausage rolls, pasties, and pastries. This is in addition to the sandwiches that we provide. It makes such a difference to have extra food to give out, and everyone appreciates a wider choice. We are so grateful to this support and are very thankful to Kelly and Karen in particular.
Our Art Group is holding an exhibition of their work at St Augustine’s Church on Derby Road in Chesterfield. The Exhibition will be open from 10.30am to 5pm on Saturday 10th June, and from 11am to 4pm on Sunday 11th June.
Entry is free and refreshments will be available, so come along and see the work of our artists. It means so much to them to see people taking an interest in what they create.
How to get to the Exhibition
St Augustine’s is the large church on the right hand side of Derby Road as you head out of Chesterfield. It is just past Jawbones Hill and before the traffic lights. It takes about 20 minutes to walk from the centre of town. Alternatively there are a number of bus routes that serve this area: on Saturdays services 16, 16a, 39, 51, 55, 55a, 63 and SP1, and on Sundays services 39, 51 and 55a

Our Chairman John Phillips has received an email from Wendy Fitch, the Mothers’ Union Diocesan President for Derby Diocese. Wendy says that the Mothers’ Union would like to support the work of the Church on the Bus Project. They are suggesting that they would like to purchase toiletries for the people who visit the Bus.
This is wonderful news that the Mothers’ Union are giving their support to Church on the Bus. Watch this space for more information!
