From October 3rd 2019 we moved the operation from The Bus to the upstairs facilities at Grace Chapel, Access is from the rear entrance off Rose Hill, Chesterfield every Monday and Thursday evening from 6.45pm to 7.45pm (apart from Bank Holiday Mondays). We serve tea, coffee, hot chocolate, sandwiches and, usually, treats such as cake, biscuits or chocolates! At the start we won’t be providing toiletries, clothing and shoes but aim to restart this once the operation has settled down.
More importantly we provide a safe place for people to feel welcomed, be able to sit quietly in comfort, to chat, to ask questions, and to pray. Each session ends with a short period of quiet prayer.
Typically between 25 and 35 people attend on any one evening, but the total pool of people visiting us is much larger.
To help our volunteers use the map and park where marked after 6:00pm when it is free.
For our guests and volunteers the rear entrance is marked by the arrow. Walk through the car park and down the stairs to the rear entrance.
