It’s good to see a senior politician talking about helping the homeless. On the BBC’s Andrew Marr show Jeremy Corbyn set out his plans for making more housing available for rough sleepers. Mr Corbyn pledged to work with Local Authorities and Housing Associations (should Labour get into power) to provide more council properties with lifetime tenancies at a secure rent. He also pledged to intervene in the private rented sector. He said that Labour’s policy is to make 8,000 additional homes available for the homeless. Let’s hope this is the start of some serious action in Parliament!
